Construction Update: October 9, 2026
Dear Neighbors,
We'd like to share an update on recent construction activities at 160 Freelon, where work continues to progress on the building's interior and exterior finishing stages. This week, crews began preparing the play yard for new seating areas, walkways, and flooring, including concrete and rubberized surfaces. Work also continued on the site's storm drainage system and exterior walkways.
Along Freelon Street, crews began preparations for upcoming sidewalk improvements, including the replacement of portions of the existing sidewalk, curb, and roadway pavement. This work is expected to begin next week and will help complete the public walkway in front of the building.
On the exterior, crews completed tile installation and continued stucco work along the east side of the building, with final painting and finishing expected next week. Inside, crews continued installing ceiling systems, flooring, lighting, fire alarms, and other finishing details throughout the residential units, hallways, and common areas.
What This Means for You
Sidewalk improvements along Freelon Street are expected to begin Tuesday or Wednesday of next week. During working hours, the sidewalk on the north side of the street will be temporarily closed, with flaggers available to help guide pedestrians. A temporary pedestrian walkway will be restored at the end of each workday.
Construction activity will continue throughout the coming week, including concrete work in the play yard, exterior walkway improvements, and interior finishing.
No construction work is scheduled for this weekend, with crews returning on Monday.
