


A NEW AFFORDABLE HOUSING COMMUNITY IN SOMA NEIGHBORHOOD
With 85 rental apartments, 160 Freelon will serve families earning between 30% - 60% AMI. About 25% of the units are set aside to support formerly homeless households and 5 units are set aside for households with at least one resident living with HIV.
The apartment building will feature a ground floor residential lobby, bike room, large community room, children's play yard, and outdoor court yard.

CONSTRUCTION RESOURCES
160 Freelon is being constructed by Cahill Guzman Joint Venture, a combination of two renowned general contracting companies bringing over 100 years of experience in delivering projects across the San Francisco Bay Area. Construction is expected to occur between Summer 2025 - Summer 2027 between the hours of 7:00AM - 3:30PM Monday through Friday.

Affordable apartments, when available, will be announced through the City's centralized housing site, housing.sfgov.org, where applicable requirements and restrictions specific to 160 Freelon will be published in 2027.

WHO ARE THE DEVELOPERS AND HOW WERE THEY SELECTED?
The San Francisco Office of Housing and Community Development (MOHCD) selected San Francisco Housing Development Corporation (SFHDC) and Related California (Related) as development partners through a public Request for Proposal in 2020 to co-develop the site as permanent affordable housing. WHAT IS THE UNIT MIX AND WHO WILL BE SERVED?
160 Freelon includes 85 units across 9 stories including 15 studios (18%), 24 one-bedrooms (28%), 22 two-bedrooms (26%), and 23 three-bedrooms (27%) for families with incomes ranging from 30% - 60% TCAC AMI. Of these units, 22 (25%) are set aside for formerly homeless households. An additional 5 units will serve households with a resident living with HIV.
WHAT SERVICES WILL BE OFFERED TO RESIDENTS?
SFHDC is the lead service provider with over 20 years of experience conducting community-based supportive services. At 160 Freelon, SFHDC will provide instructor-led adult educational health and wellness and skills-building classes. Topics will include financial literacy, debt reduction, first-time home ownership, computer skills training, resume building, nutrition, heath awareness, adult recreation, and parenting and youth-focused programming.
WILL THE BUILDING BE ENVIRONMENTALLY FRIENDLY?
160 Freelon is targeting GreenPoint Rated Gold and will be all-electric. The building also includes 85 bike parking spots. In addition, the close proximity to the SFMTA Muni Stop at 4th Street and Brannan Street will encourage residents to utilize public transit.
