Dear Neighbors,
Last week, the 160 Freelon construction team reached an exciting milestone by successfully completing the concrete pour for the project’s mat slab. The mat slab will serve as the solid first-floor foundation that will support future construction. Thank you for your patience while the construction team’s crews worked hard to complete this work as quickly and with as little disturbance as possible.
Now, the site will begin to rise vertically. The construction team has begun setting the first steel columns and walls—reaching just above what will be the third floor. A crane will remain onsite to assist with this work. The brief whistle sounds you may hear are standard safety signals.
Additionally, this week, limited utility work will occur along the Freelon Street sidewalk. This will be confined to a small section of the sidewalk with flaggers present to safely guide pedestrians.
The tower crane is scheduled for installation on Saturday, November 8, starting at 7 a.m. A mobile crane and several trucks will arrive that morning to assemble the tower crane throughout the day. Only crane-related crews will be on site during this operation.
What This Means For You
Sidewalk work on Freelon Street will continue through early November.
The tower crane will be installed on Saturday, November 8, beginning at 7 a.m.
